A random taste of photos:

Broken rocks colored with lichen near a lake. Yellow coneflowers (I think). A black and purple wasp-like creature with red legs and a long stinger or ovipositor (egg-laying organ). Possibly a female Ichneumon wasp -- Pimpla? If someone knows for sure, I\'d love to be enlightened!

Miner\'s Lettuce. Macro of a purple flower with yellow pollen and green stems. (If you know the species, please let me know and I\'ll add the info!) This is either a Sharp-shinned Hawk or a Cooper\'s Hawk, eating a smaller bird. I believe it is a juvenile (fledged some weeks ago). This hawk family lived in a eucalyptus tree on a golf course.
